What is Sculptra?

Sculptra Aesthetic is a poly-L-lactic acid injectable known for stimulating collagen production and providing results that can last up to two years—the longest-lasting results of nearly all injectables and fillers on the market.

It is used to treat treating nasolabial folds (smile lines), deep marionette (laugh) lines, and chin wrinkles. As well as, hip dips and the buttocks.

How does Sculptra work?

As a collagen stimulator, Sculptra Aesthetic addresses the underlying cause of aging—loss of collagen—instead of the symptoms. It works in collaboration with the body’s natural proteins to restore skin structure and volume. As the injection microparticles are absorbed, collagen production accelerates. Rebuilt collagen strands begin gradually helping to restore facial volume  and the look of fullness to wrinkles and folds.

Preparation, Procedure Protocols & Recovery

To prepare for a Sculptra procedure, avoid harsh interaction with the treatment area, such as tweezing, waxing, or bleaching. One week prior, cease taking certain supplements, aspirin, blood-thinning or anti-inflammatory medications, and alcohol.

Similar to other fillers and injectables, the procedure is quick, lasting several minutes to one hour. The length of your appointment depends on the number and size of the areas you want treated. Your healthcare providers will inject Sculptra Aesthetic into the deep dermis to connect with the strands of collagen. The number of appointments and injections per appointment will vary, however, clinical studies have shown the poly-L-lactic acid filler can provide two years of results within three treatments.

There is little to no downtime associated with Sculptra Aesthetic. Most patients experience mild bruising or swelling treatable with cold packs or light massages of the area. Avoid excessive sunlight or tanning beds in the days following treatment. Results will gradually appear.

What is the Cost of Sculptra?

$850 per syringe. The number of syringes vary depending on the area treated. Most patients undergo 3 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart.
